Manufacturer-reported figures from the portfolio, p. 9. These are potential values, not guaranteed outcomes or results for every formulation. Performance depends on product, water, soil and application conditions. Granular swelling figures do not describe Aqua’s liquid mechanism.
Granular NANOTERN captures rain or irrigation water, holds it in a polymer network and releases moisture as the soil dries.

The challenge
Irregular rainfall and dry periods make reliable soil moisture harder to maintain.

The response
Stored water supports moisture availability between rainfall and irrigation.
Moisture is stored close to the root zone for gradual uptake.
The reservoir helps buffer changes in soil moisture and temperature.
Granules absorb, release and absorb again as water becomes available.
How granular Nanotern works
The manufacturer describes a hydrophilic, cross-linked polymer network. Dry granules absorb rain or irrigation water, swell into a gel and release moisture gradually around the root zone.
Aqua uses a different liquid formulation that interacts with soil particles and pore structures; it does not form individually swelling granules.

7 products

Granular · Polyacrylate-based
A nanocomposite superabsorbent polymer for water retention in agricultural soils.
The manufacturer describes absorption of up to 1,800 times its weight in water, with gradual release over up to 40 days. It remains active in soil for up to two years and supports 4–5 swelling–drying cycles.
Hobby cultivation and small growing areas (4 kg); orchards, vineyards, cereals, legumes and larger agricultural applications (15 kg).

Granular · Cellulose-based
A biodegradable superabsorbent polymer for soil moisture management.
The brochure describes gradual moisture release over up to 40 days. Contact our team for the confirmed absorption specification. ANT Systems states that the material fully decomposes within one year without residue.
Home cultivation and potting (500 g / 2 kg); nurseries, greenhouses and small agricultural areas (4 kg); medium- and large-scale farming (15 kg).
Micronutrient-enriched formulation
Separate packaging artwork is not provided in the portfolio.Granular · Micronutrient-enriched
A cellulose-based biodegradable polymer enriched with micronutrients including boron, iron and zinc.
The manufacturer specifies absorption of 600–1,800 times its weight in water and nutrient release for up to 40 days. The brochure describes compatibility with all soil types and full biodegradation within one year.
Discuss your soil, crop and nutrient requirements with our team. Packaging is not separately specified for Nutri in the supplied portfolio.
A formulation for your requirements
Separate packaging artwork is not provided in the portfolio.Tailored formulation
A superabsorbent polymer formulated for specific soil and application requirements.
The manufacturer describes tailored water retention and nutrient delivery to support root development and agricultural or landscaping applications. The formulation is selected around the intended soil and use.
Share your soil conditions, crop or landscape application, climate and project scale to discuss a tailored formulation.

Liquid · Bio+ Agriculture Aqua
A liquid polymer-based system applied through irrigation to manage soil moisture.
Unlike the granular formulations, Aqua does not form individually swelling particles. The brochure describes a distributed network interacting with soil particles and pore structures, slowing infiltration and reducing evaporation from the topsoil.
Orchards, vineyards and vegetable farms (5 L); large-scale field and garden applications through drip irrigation (20 L).

Granular · Polyacrylate-based
A nanocomposite superabsorbent polymer for moisture retention and vegetation in landscape projects.
The manufacturer describes a granular formulation that enhances water retention and supports healthy vegetation. The product summary lists a soil residence time of two years.
Home gardens, balconies and potted ornamental plants (500 g / 2 kg); residential landscaping (4 kg); parks, municipal plantings and large estates (15 kg).

Liquid · Landscape irrigation
A liquid formulation for moisture retention and irrigation performance in landscaping.
The manufacturer describes uniform distribution and immediate action to help maintain stable root-zone moisture and support plant growth and efficient water use.
Home gardens and landscape projects (5 L); commercial and residential landscaping, parks and sports fields (20 L).

Product information from the ANT Systems portfolio, organized around practical questions.
Granules swell and store water in a polymer network. Aqua works as a liquid system within the soil structure. These mechanisms and their application routes should be considered separately.
Compare the product range ↗Bio+ focuses on cellulose-based moisture management. Nutri adds micronutrients. Custom is tailored to specific soil and application requirements.
Explore the formulations ↗The portfolio covers agricultural production, nurseries and soilless systems alongside gardens, parks, turf and green roofs. Share the use and site conditions when enquiring.
Discuss your application ↗Based on the manufacturer portfolio and FAQ, pp. 13–14, 19, 23 and 29–32.
ANT Systems describes Nanotern as a subsoil water reservoir. Granular formulations absorb water and gradually release it around plant roots. Aqua is a separate liquid system that interacts with soil particles and pore structures.
The portfolio lists sandy, loamy, clay, silty, peaty and chalky soils, and applications from arid and semi-arid to temperate and tropical climates. Discuss the specific formulation and site conditions with our team.
The Agriculture formulation is described as active for up to two years. Bio+ and Nutri are described as fully biodegrading within one year. Custom is listed at one to two years and Landscaping at two years. These are manufacturer descriptions, not one duration for every product.
The manufacturer presents biodegradability as a portfolio feature. The Bio+ and Nutri descriptions explicitly identify cellulose-based formulations and a one-year breakdown period. Agriculture and Landscaping are described as polyacrylate-based. Refer to the exact product specification when selecting a formulation.
The manufacturer FAQ states compatibility with most standard agricultural inputs. Nutri incorporates micronutrients including boron, iron and zinc. Share the inputs and intended use so compatibility can be discussed for your application.
The brochure says granular Nanotern can be applied manually or mechanically, mixed into soil or placed around root zones. Agriculture Aqua is delivered through irrigation systems, including drip irrigation. Product-specific instructions should guide application.
The brochure includes hydroponics and other soilless applications, describing moisture and nutrient retention around the root zone. The appropriate formulation and application method should be selected for the system.
The portfolio reports figures such as up to 50% water savings and up to 25% yield increase. These are manufacturer-reported potential figures. They do not establish a guaranteed result for every product, crop or project.
